I always think of the Robert Ruark Inn as a very romantic place. From the Victorian decor that takes you back in time to the realization that you are spending time in the former home of one of the more renown authors of his time – Robert Ruark.
I was digging through some reviews online to learn more about what recent visitors enjoyed as well as what they might dislike and I stumbled up on this one on TripAdvisor. It simply helped reinforce my ‘romantic bed and breakfast‘ view of the Robert Ruark Inn. I thought I would share below:
My new wife and I stayed at The Robert Ruark after our wedding. It was an amazing place to stay and David, the inn keeper was very accomodating. The rooms are beautiful! They have all the Victorian charm you could hope for but have been updated with modern ammenities. The food was also amazing! David laid out some snacks for us for after the wedding; his fudge is excellent. We had asked him to only prepare a light breakfast for us the next morning as we had a brunch with our families later that morning. He went a little overboard and we were glad he did! He made the best shrimp and grits I have ever tasted! We thought we were only going to sample the breakfast… well, we both cleaned our plates. The inn is incredible and David’s hospitality puts it over the top!
